Althena (アルテナ arutena) is the goddess of the world of Lunar.
She is referred to as the Goddess of Love and Beauty[1], the Goddess of Creation, and the Goddess of Light[2] throughout Lunar.
She created Lunar after Zophar, the God of Destruction, attacked the Blue Star and forced her to use her power to banish him to the Netherworld. However, the clash between the forces of Creation and Destruction created a surge of power that decimated the Blue Star.
Althena's Power[]
The Goddess Althena's power is known as magic and is what allowed Lunar's creation to take place. Humans are capable of using magic as well. Althena knew that most would use magic to better their world, but some would use it for evil purposes. So she created the floating city of Vane to train and govern Lunar's magic users. Althena gave the priesthood of Lunar a very special gift-the power to heal the afflicted of illness and wounds through her blessing.
Incarnations[]
Althena has appeared as a human many times throughout Lunar's history, usually around every hundred years. She uses her incarnations in order to lead the people through conflict and to times of prosperity. [1]

However, Althena noticed that humans were not happy with their lives on Lunar and she realized that they had become too dependent on her. When she was born as Luna, she fell in love with Dragonmaster Alex and decided to give up her immortality for love. Thus, the Goddess Althena no longer exists in Lunar.
